Golden Garden - Mount Pleasant

I also want to praise the pair that leads the Golden Garden! Today I tried the shrimp and scallops on behalf of my wife. We're old and maybe have four teeth between us, haha. The vegetables were delicate and tasteful, about everything we experienced in every oriental restaurant since leaving the west coast. The Mongolian lamb was super hot, haha, as it should be! These people know what they're doing. I cannot recommend very enough! Thank you.

Pleasantly surprised with this Chinese takeout that seems like any other from the outside. However, the quality of food is what makes this place excellent! The crabs were phenomenal, egg drop soup was huge for the price, and the chickens used light meat not dark meat and was not extremely fried. The pork roast rice has a great taste on itself and the egg roll was perfectly crisp. For the price, quality and quantity of food I come back again and again.

The restaurant features a lovely interior design and boasts friendly, welcoming staff. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, making it a pleasant spot to relax while waiting for our meals. That said, the wait time was a bit longer than expected, and I started to wonder if they had forgotten about my order. Fortunately, the staff kept me engaged with their attentive service! The food, on the other hand, was truly fantastic. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this place.

This is the best authentic Mom-and-Pop Chinese restaurant in Charleston! The food transports you right back to China, with traditional dishes like pork belly with potatoes and spicy fish, just to name a couple. You’ll need to be patient, and the setup might seem a bit unconventional—you might even find yourself using some paper plates! However, the incredible food makes it all worthwhile! We’re from Colombia, and every time we visit Charleston, this place is a must-visit. Everyone in the local Chinese community knows about Golden Garden. Happy dining!

This place is definitely better than the Chinese food I had in Northern Virginia! It's hands down the best in Mt. Pleasant. Their extensive menu has something for everyone, and you can't go wrong with any choice. It can be a bit oily at times, but they do offer a healthier menu with a sauce on the side.
