Amazing! Wondering as well why the many poor reviews over their pizzas previously but I can guarantee they have definitely improved alot this time round. Had a very nice chicken pizza so do go for it. No worries!!
First time visit to Mt Buller and the price tag to a lot of things is expensive, maybe because many of these businesses operate only operate during 3 months of the year of snowfall. Walk in and wait to be seated. There's quite a service element here compared to other places and it's quite good with wait staff checking in at various times through our meal. I'd met a couple at our hotel and bumped into them again in the village advising them there wasn't much opened post Queen's Birthday weekend so we decided to give ABOM a go. We'd ordered chips, foccacia, and olives as starters. That was a lot of food in itself. Tasty olives, the foccacia had a garlic and Parmesan twinge on the crust, the French fries and tomato sauce were nice and crunchy. It's a lovely venue. For mains I ordered the gnocchi with a creamy mushroom sauce. The gnocchi was good but not spongy, maybe a tad undercooked but the sauce was tasty, particularly with the hardness of the grated Parmesan.
After staying in a few rooms on a few levels I must say there is a definite smell of dank the deeper into the bowels of this beast you go. This was also in the warm season when things are a lot drier. That said the food and hospitality up stairs was good. The giant taxidermied polar bear was an added bonus.
Good quality mocha served from the cafe. Nice view of the Bourke st trail. Ample dine-in seating space serving hot food at the open kitchen bistro. Good spot for a quick bite.
Great food and customer service. We went to Abom multiple times for dinner and liked most dishes we ordered. The special beetroot and quinoa salad with chicken tenders was delicious. We loved the venison bolognaise pasta. Could stop eating it. The pork and fennel pizza was good though the crust was too doughy and not seasoned. Staff there are really nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend paying them a visit!
