Windrush Wines and Cafe - Mount Barker

We recently stumbled upon this delightful little cafe, and from the moment we came up the driveway we were totally enchanted.Greeted by two of the happiest friendly faces when entering the cellar door, immediately led us to the decision to have a meal, this was a decision we did not regret.The meals were superb, flavorsome and generous, the decor and ambience was spot on with a lovely view to boot.We shall return.Oh forgot really enjoyed the Cabernet.

Imagine a beautiful place, a little winery nestled in gentle hills and surrounded by woods, the kind of landscape that can make you feel perfectly quiet and peaceful. Imagine that this wonderful place is also a restaurant, and a great one.Every dish is the result of many tests, all conducted by the chef to reach the perfection. Everything you eat is not only beautifully prepared, cooked and presented, but all the flavours are also perfectly balanced and the matchings are absolutely great. As a result, every bite you have, you can't stop thinking: "This is delicious". So, a great place with great food, not to mention the outstanding wine. Obvioulsy we strongly recommend to visit Windrush.

Delicious quality food, friendly service, lovely wines, will be back. Do try the white port, rose, and chardonnay. Blue wrens hopping about nearby are a treat.

We visited Windrush Wines with friends, the new decor is great and hosts Jan and John made us feel very welcome and like old friends. The menu is interesting and offers exciting choices. Service is very good, John as barista does an excellent job. Jan prepares everything on-site. Well worth the visit, highly recommended.

We enjoyed our lunch here. The decor is simple but bright and modern. The outlook pleasant. The food we found was good and better value than is common in the Margaret River wineries.
