Each Korean restaurant is a little different than the next and that makes it interesting. I had the Yuk Jai Gay many times as well as the pork bone soup and I say again the food is really good. This is a place to have a nice quite lunch. Park around the back and enter through the back door. It is most authentic and most of their customers are Korean. Please give this review a thumbs up 6032 Dempster Morton Grove Il.
Very good Korean homestyle food. Tastes like an authentic hole in the wale restaurant you would eat at in Seoul. Very hard to find this real traditional style of Korean hotpot in the US.
I just realized I didn't write a review for my favorite Korean hotpot restaurant, so here it is. If you want to try something authentic and different, you need to try this place. I found this place by chance a few years ago because I was looking for good Korean near work. I only come here in the cold months because these places are known for its hotpots, too hot for the summer months. Hotpots or Casserole are the main theme here, there is no BBQ, no chicken wings, no sushi, simply ingenious mouth irrigation hotpots and these people know how they, besides fresh ingredients, the broth base is very important. I personally don't like spices, but the broth here has exactly the right amount of spices in it, but not overwhelming that you can taste nothing else. The combination of taste is simply incredible, especially the spicy chicken or spicy pork bone hotpots. If you want to take a break from the spices, you can always order the bulgogi hotpot that is more on the sweet side. There are other hotpot variations with tofu and such. Try the traditional blood sausage, you can't just get it anywhere. Along with fast and friendly services, you cannot resist coming here at least once a week. The food warms you from the inside. This is one of the few places I always end up eating
The kimchi was homemade, with good bang, but still fresh and appropriate wiciness. Fasting was delicious and the soon daeguk broth was nourishing. My Korean family members felt that this is one of the few restaurants they wanted to visit while we were in Chicago on weekends, so that it says a lot.
Perfect meal! Side dishes are also great!! My meal was ready quickly with very good shape. I recommend visiting this place for your meal.
