Mortlake Deli Fresh Cafe

The trip down the Hamilton Highway can get a little boring, and any stop is worth checking out. If you stop in Mortlake you justy have to try this place. It has all that is needed to refresh and refill those tiring bodies. Cakes, fresh rolls made up how you like, all great. The staff are quick and engaging and there to help you out with service and local info. Always a good stop.

We were hanging out for a coffee during a long drive home across the state and were pleasantly surprised to come across this supermarket which has expanded into a café. As well as serving hot food and sandwiches, the café caters for vegetarians, tradies and the gluten intolerant. Soy and almond milk drinks are available. And the coffee is good! Great staff, too. Good work Mortlake!

Driving west from Melbourne along the Hamilton highway we reached Mortlake about lunch time and decided to stop. We were delighted to find the Deli Fresh Cafe but were initially surprised because it is a small supermarket. The deli counter is inside at the rear and here we found an owner who takes his food, his coffee and his customers seriously. We had great cheeseburgers and excellent coffee. Made with fresh local ingredients and meticulous attention to quality and cleanliness is was definitely a great choice. We will certainly make this our "must stop" for future travels along this highway.

100% outstanding personal service, would have to be equal best in Mortlake. Freshest food, Best Bacon & Egg Muffins $3.70 too cheap, Focaccia's amazing (Salami outstanding) Fresh not frozen Cakes / pastry's. The best smoothies, the list just goes on, becoming a daily customer...too Fresh and tasty. YUM :)

Fantastic food, cooked fresh when ordered, not out of a warmer. Friendly workers. Supermarket and cafe. Sit in or take away.
