Bad experience. In recent days, after several calls to search for a place where to have lunch, I entrust myself to The Fork for booking. My choice falls on Gambarina Alta, for a few days I see that on The Fork always has availability. The reviews are not very good, but I want to give them a chance. Trusting me a little bit about luck, maybe catching the right day. Saturday I book with The Fork app (which I use for 10 years) I get the email with confirmation. We leave Sunday from Milan at 11.30 and we present there at 13.00 as from reservation. We're five, we're in, and after a moment of disorientation, a girl almost makes us sit at the table. Then tell us, after a check with the room manager, no, that our reservation was not. I tell you that the reservation was confirmed and we arrived from Milan. But nothing, it makes me understand that they take reservations until they are sure to have the place full the others delete them. Without the slightest excuse for ruining our day. And indeed, known only after, since I was driving, that the reservation was cancelled at 12.47. A call would have been appreciated. We couldn't have lunch anywhere and we went back to Milan. Contact The Fork, they tell me I'm aware of these practices. What to say, it never happened to me.
We celebrated an important milestone, we were great, friendly and helpful staff, the owner Walter person very well and educated, we recommend to anyone who wants to celebrate in tranquility I spend a few hours eating really good food. Thanks Gambarina Alta Magda
Well what to say, we stayed at dinner at this place (reserved dinner for 2 people), apart from the slowness of the service, but on that you can also pass over, cold dishes and not even very good. The most absurd thing is that we took a bottle of paid wine 14 euros, of which we drank a glass at the head during the dinner, so going away, finished the dinner, in the bottle had remained more than half of the content, the rude and grumpy manager forbidden us to take away the bottle PAGATA FOR INTERO pretending to have reversed it by mistake. Horrible experience, we'll never go. Never seen so much rudeness.
The restaurant can be a great idea for a Sunday trip. In the middle of Lomellina, a few kilograms from the forest of the Loja marsh, offers an excellent cuisine of the territory with special dishes. I, for example, enjoyed the appetizer based on snails, excellent preparation, as well as not easy availability. Everything is very good in a small and harvested countryside environment. Excellent service and good prices, 50€ for two starters, two first ones, water and coffee, the latter served with delicious carnival frittelline.
