Nothing really amazing, yet the food was quite good, service was fast and friendly, many stands and easy parking. I always try crispy tacos when available. They didn't disappoint. The bowls were fried, light and crispy. Not like the fake school Cafeteria Art Shells served in some restaurants. The enchilada, burrito, beans, rice, chips and salsa were also delicious. I also enjoyed the view of the sea, in the distance. It is family owned and operated with authentic flair. I definitely go back.
We’ve been to this place a few times, mostly for their breakfast burrito, which is stellar, but we decided to dine in this time since it was such a lovely autumn morning! The waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating to our capricious desires. Chips and salsa Our waitress brought us a big basket of tortilla chips and a little plastic molé bowl of salsa. The chips were fresh, thin, and crisp, but we didn’t finish them by any stretch of the imagination because we had our eyes on the prize. The salsa was mild with just the right consistency of puréed vs. chunky. Coffee This was typical diner coffee, hot and fast, with cream and sugar because I’m a fancy city boy. Chile Verde Omelette My wife’s breakfast so of course I had a bit. We’d just had chile verde down in San Diego so this plate had a lot to live up to. The acidity from the tomatillo salsa really cut the fat from the pork and beans. The egg was fluffy and light and the chunks of tender pork. My wife got rice with it and could only finish half so now she’s got lunch at work tomorrow too! Breakfast Burrito This was a behemoth, but I was strong in the face of overwhelming opposition! I can say that this accomplishment is comparable to any run-of-the-mill Nobel Prize Winner or Emmy-Nomination, in terms of the sheer fortitude it takes to accomplish it. The potatoes were thin and crunch at the edges, soft in the middle. They were like thick (thicc) potato chips. The bacon was crisp, but more toothsome and tender than crunchy. The egg was in folded sheets, soft and pillowy. The sauce was like a gravy, savory rather than tomatoey like enchilada sauce. Overall, delicious and very filling. Should I have taken it for lunch like my sagacious wife? Probably. But I am nothing if not committed to my own mindless self-indulgence.
Ate dinner here the night before. I came back again for breakfast. Besides it being very close and convenient. The food was very good. Loved the outdoor seating. Incredible weather in February..
Excellent food, big portions. Tried the tostada and a burrito with shredded beef, and it was all so good. Hard to find big shredded beef! Also Mary, our server, was friendly, professional and obviously great at her job. We'll be back soon!
Super delicious food and excellent service. We went on Taco Tuesday, I had a few tacos (a beef, a chicken) the beef was better, but both were very good. I also have a side of rice that was quite expensive. My son got the bean and cheese Burrito children's meal. He absolutely loved the beans. The meal comes with a small burrito and small portions of beans and rice. My son got the child's meal, a cup of Albóndigassuppet and a cup of milk that costs together $20, so I thought that would be quite high for a child for lunch. The waitress was very friendly and came by to check us a few times during our meal. Free chips and salsa, the table salsa is tasteful, but very mild, but if you want some spicier, the server will whip you a hot salsa.
