Some were openly discussing inappropriate topics like drug use, firearms, and underage drinking. One employee was even talking loudly about “pushing weight,” a street term for selling drugs, which could get them into serious trouble. The food itself was hit or miss. Some items were of low quality, but the jalapeño chicken poppers and mashed potatoes were excellent—kudos to the chef! However, students refer to this dining hall as "Stalnasty," and for good reason: cleanliness was a huge issue. The tables were dirty, and the hotdog machine was covered in grease. A clean establishment is crucial for a good dining experience, and I would advise the Terrace Room to take a closer look at this aspect. Despite these issues, the staff were very friendly, and it was clear that both the adult and student workers got along well. There’s definitely room for improvement, and I hope the university recognizes this and allocates more funds to dining services, as the staff, particularly the cooks and dishwashers, work incredibly hard. One major concern I want to highlight is the catfish labeled as "Delaware River Catfish" on the main line. As someone who previously volunteered with the EPA, I sincerely hope this is just a mistake.
