Charming, entertaining, he holds court at his office (which is a quirky little bar by the pool, after six every evening. Hosts and entertains celebrities, hotel guests. When asked where one could find the best Goan food? Right here. What about Italian? Right here. He was not kidding. Some of the best Italian pasta. And Goan was exceptional.
This is a very informal kind of restaurant I mean the settings. Its unlike a restaurant restaurant. You go there to spend the evening with a wonderful experience. Selection of wines and spirits I think it matches any 5 star, but the cocktail concoctions has a special touch i'd say. But the food is beyond expectations that's if you know your European cuisines well !! The Australian lamb rack, beef and fish carpachios, salads, soups all pretty authentic and well presented. The main course we tried was a lobster, cod and lamb stew .. Superb turnouts. Selection of deserts not a big variety but whatever there, is good. Evening well spent .. Cheers
This restaurant on the beach keep every season the quality of the food and service. French owners with lots of europeans customers.
Despite a lovely location and a very welcoming (drunk?!?!) manager/owner the overall NYE experience was awful. The worst of my life.Soups were tasteless, grilled calamari seemed everything but fresh grilled calamari, in fact it was marinated calamari in spices, our guess to cover some other tastes... Then we had to send back our grilled prawns 3 times because thet were raw (we are not going to eat raw seafood in goa). Grilled fish and dessert were good though. No wine selection: they brought us 3 different undrinkable white wines, and that was it. The final surprise: 20% surcharge for credit card 20 PERCENT?!?! I wonder if this is legal?
Arrived in party of 4 in lovely surroundings of smartish boutique hotel. Dining area outside next to swimming pool. Nice welcome from staff. Ordered 2 dry martinis - got that red sweet martini which is not a dry martini. Food took over an hour to arrive. Meanwhile they ran out of rose having only one bottle. We had 7 shots of vodka and gin for which we were charged just under 120,000 rupees. They gave us Beldevere vodka when we ordered cheaper one. Three curries - all poor and not as good as beach shacks. Red snapper was some other fish. Other courses ok. Total bill for drinks and two courses of over 200,000 rupees. When paying I was told the additional charge for a credit card was 20%. Sadly one of the most disastrous dining experiences ever, as they seems nice people but all over the place.
