I am not in the habit of giving stars as I believe that should only be awarded to a business that has that little something extra. The Pancake Place in Elgin is one such place. At first it doesn't seem like much being long and narrow so when you enter, there are seats only on side. Then a little way in, on the left, is the service area followed by the toilets, including an accessible toilet. Then after that an area of seating both sides. There is different styles of seating allowing for seating to be removed for wheelchair users. We have been here several times now and each time both the food and drinks have been excellent. I am not one for having fish away from home, I like my fish very fresh, but when I saw the sign up saying the fish is delivered daily from Mairs of Buckie, I knew the fish had to be fresh, and it was. So all good, and the place comes highly recommended. But what makes it that little bit special? It's the staff. They simply could not do enough. Even when I explained my walking problems I was told to phone ahead anytime I was coming and they would keep a front table for me. No questions asked. They have my utmost respect, we all know how some will treat employees, yet everyone here keeps a happy face and a helpful hand. stars well deserved.
Good cafe with goid friendly service. Had a cappuccino with a fantastic slice of carrot cake. So yummy! Would definitely recommend.
Busy place with a big, tasty menu. I'll be glad when it increases its vegan options. Great place to take your kids for a treat.
It is in the middle of the precinct in Elgin and from the outside, to be fair, it doesn't really look like much. A table with a couple seats outside, window and door. But inside it stretches on back for a fair distance so can seat a deceptively large number of people. Near the front there are a couple tables on the left then a long row of tables on the right stretching all the way to the back on the left after the tables is the servery then the toilets, including a properly laid out accessible toilet, then more tables. Now the food. We have yet to be served anything to complain about. We have tried different items on different visits and it has always been good and hot through to the middle. The latte and coffee is lovely and the bairn has tried different soft drinks and never complained, and she is fussy! So it comes highly recommended. I would say if you are ambulant disabled and struggle with walking you can phone and ask for a table near the front to be kept for your arrival time the staff are very very helpful a d get top marks!
