They took care of us with ease, as if it were just a table of four, they often need to get groups because the service never touched a little. There was something on the menu to make every one of the numerous appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees, including daily specialties a fantastic selection of desserts and gourmet coffee. I started with the Maryland Crab Soup and a wonderful House Salad with her Mandarine Ginger Vinaigrette. My duck was a beautiful prime rib with a large potato and sauced mixed vegetables. I drank Iced Tea and finished it with a piece of her Peanut Butter Pie; incredible. This cake is as dense and rich as cheesecake, but not hard at all. This slice was so big that I took half of it home and had it with coffee the next morning. In conclusion, I will summarize it; great service, great food and drinks prepared and served by the care people make O'Neills the first dinner, dessert, coffee place in Hardy County.
What do you know about Moorefield? I don't know much. I know that one of my Newman roommates (of the five of them was from Moorefield. I also know they're processing chickens. But that's all I have... until recently. Now I know they have a good meal. I received a while back from Daniel Todd, who mentioned that O'Neills in Moorefield served him the perfect dish of food (plus cakes!) that, combined with the placement of the restaurant on the 101 unique places to Dine in WV list, sent me on a road trip. O'Neills has a country charm to it with high-stretched chairs, precariously placed tap art and some green that add to the ambience. But I can say that I went here alone for lunch, and I don't think they were quite sure how to react. The menu has some really good options steak, salmon, crab cake, sandwiches, salads and more. I rarely order a salad because how can you make a restaurant based on a number of ingredients that were assembled. Where is creativity? Where's the personality? Where's the fun? O'Neills solved this for me.
Very friendly and efficient waiting staff. Most desserts are made on site. Regional American cuisine varies from sandwiches and soups to steaks, prime rib, fish, pasta, etc.
Great casual atmosphere, good service, Great Food. Homemade desserts. I had ribs and sweet potatoes $14) and my wife had fillet mignon, baked potato and cucumber salad $18). Everything was excellent. The menu ranged from sandwiches and burgers less than $10) to dinner steak, seafood, pasta for $10-$20. Will definitely be back.
