Solobirra - Monza

This pub has slightly dodgy music but the range of beers is outstanding. It's like an art gallery for beer. Friendly service. Not a place to get banjaxed though as it is quite pricey.

Okay, so this is not really a restaurant and not sure what food they serve, if indeed any. This is a cool, stripped back craft beer pub of a high international standard. I entered with several friends and the girl who was serving greeted us warmly and asked us where we were all from before taking our beer order. She was genuinely delighted to have us there and indeed several of the locals at the bar also started speaking with us in English. The quality beers (about 10 taps) are varied and from many countries, and reasonably priced. The only reason that I did not rate it with 5 stars was I found the decor and lighting to bring a slightly cold feel to the place.

As Ex Pats living in Italy, my wife and I gave up in trying to find a Pub with American Craft Beers in the Milan area...until we stumbled upon Solobirra. They have beers from Sierra Nevada to Rogue, including some rare to find beers that are difficult to find in the States. Incredible! The place is small but friendly. The owner Matteo, is super knowledgeable and fun to talk to about beer. He is very well inserted in the growing Italian Craft Beer community and suggested some very good Italian Craft Beers. A must if you are in the Monza area and want a great Craft Beer.
