Great for a family and great to taste Persian food for a very reasonable price. We had in many places Persian food and it was better than most other places. It is simple, but very friendly and casual.
We dined at the Safran Restaurant two nights ago, after reading several reviews on TripAdvisor. Whilst it is a small restaurant, there is an outdoor annexe attached for summer or not-to-cold-an-evening dining. Given the cold and wet weather, we chose to eat indoors, in the restaurant which is simply but nicely decorated. We were promptly seated and given menus by a gentleman, whom we assume was the owner of the restaurant. We opted for the Formule menu of Entrée, Main course and Dessert, at 20 E each. I had the Barley and lentil soup, which was hot, flavoursome and had no nasty after-effects ! , whilst my husband had the Iranian Cotelletes, which are like spicy, deep fried mince and potato cakes, with a salad. Both dishes were good. For main course, my husband had a chicken dish with Persian sauce, rice and salad. It was spicy which he liked , a generous serve which he liked and flavoursome which he liked ! I had the Gratin of aubergines, vegetables and beef, which was extremely good and I loved every minute of it. Having walked miles in Paris, and having had no lunch, we both enjoyed the chocolate mousse on offer for dessert. With pre-dinner drinks a kir 4 E and a Heineken 3.50 E and a bottle of Bordeaux Cotes de Blaye 16 E , our bill came to 63.50 E, which we think very good value. The service was prompt, efficient and friendly. We would certainly recommend the Safran as representing good value.
We stopped at Le Safran during an evening Autumn stroll near our hotel. The decor was very inviting, the menu looked promising, and we were not disappointed. Each course was lovingly prepared and presented. The waiter was attentive, but not intrusive when we engaged him in conversation, it was quite pleasant. We sated ourselves more than we intended, because everything was so good heavenly desserts and coffee to finish off a wonderful evening meal.
6/10/14. By chance we chose this restaurant with hits bright awning that caught my attention, before shopping for vacationer provisions. Everything was superb, the best. The service by a wonderful waiter. The coffee my wife and I needed later in morning, having missed our breakfast. The chicken prepared for me and my grandson with the most delicate rice and wonderfully seasoned fresh vegetables. My wife's soup, refreshing and flavorful. We will be going back before we leave 6/24/14 for Minneapolis
