On our first night, we ate at one of the fancier more expensive restaurants on the lake and were completely disappointed. The next night we went up the mountain some to Glion and found this great place. It's conveniently located near the train station (and the place we were staying). It has a much more relaxed, inviting atmosphere than places in Montreux. It feels like a quieter restaurant that locals enjoy. The owner is very friendly, provides great service, and speaks several languages. Even though the restaurant was very full, the food arrived quickly. The food was excellent! We ate out a lot on this trip, and the food here was my favorite. I highly recommend the filet de cheval. It was very tender, cooked perfectly, and had a tasty mushroom sauce. Prices were also less than similar restaurants closer to the water. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely return the next time I'm in the area.
Not much going on in Glion except the fab hotel Victoria where we were staying . Fancied a light lunch which is actually impossible in Switzerland . I had the Rosti which was extremely filling and very tasty . The menu encouraged us to try something new and not just have a sandwich or salad . It's not cheap but Switzerland isn't . Quite a small menu but we enjoyed the experience . Service very friendly
We rode the funicular up to Gilon. It was late in the afternoon and we were hungry; so we skipped the Hotel Victoria and ate here, it was terrific. We just had a mixed salad each and a version of a toasted cheese sandwich; but bother were excellent. Service was terrific and friendly. High,y recommended for lunch.
After arriving to Hotel Victoria outside of normal meal times (1430), the family needed some delicious eats. We arrived to Le Jaman and the were happy to accommodate us. Food was delicious and service was beyond friendly.
I had very high expectations from this restaurant, because a colleague of mine who is based in Geneva recommended it. Very limited daily menu, I ordered the chicken, and it was too dry for my taste. It didn't have a lot of flavor as well. I liked the atmosphere, though, it was homey and welcoming, and the owners/hosts were very nice. The view from up there is quite lovely as well. Next time to go back to visit the area, I will probably try to check out other restaurants before going back to this one.
