Begood - Montreuil

You know what you get here - good fresh food, nice drinks, good value and a chilled out atmosphere. Good for a family get together.

In Montreuil (sous Bois) on the eastern edge of Paris, Begood is a bright airy modern self-service lunch place for the office workers in the area, with a focus on fresh home-made healthy hot and cold foods : sandwiches, salads, pasta, quiches, soups, and two plats du jour. Various symbols point out which choices are low in calories, or rich in antioxidants or vitamins or fibre.I only stumbled across the place a couple of days ago, but apparently it's been here for quite a few years. I decided on a soup (there were four different ones on offer, I was in the mood for a tomato soup) and a salad (there were a couple of different ones available, I went for something with two different kinds of leaves, bits of chicken and apple and asian noodles and dressing). Both soup and salad tasted fresh and flavourful, and I saw plenty of other options that I'll have to try out on future visits.Service was friendly and helpful. The place was bright and clean, and seemed quite popular. It's only open for lunch, opening late morning and closing mid afternoon, but if you happen to be in the neighbourhood and wanting an easy light lunch, Begood is definitely worth a try.
