I got a cup of Jamaica juice, it was small not much taste and wish I got a bottle of soda instead. Nice flow of customers on a Saturday afternoon, we got our seats right away. The girl that served us was bubbly and smiling the chef on the other hand looked angry and kind of itimidating lol. The tacos were bigger than expected with a good amount of meat topped with well seasoned but seemed like unevenly fried french fries and garnished with dehydrated slices of cucumber and radish. The Capechano had a good blend of chorizo and beef and the Bavette was nice and tender. The Vegetarian was lacking and unimpressive definitely better off getting meat instead for the same price. The taco experience was enhanced with a squeeze of lime and a dab of the Home made hot sauce.
Tried 3 different tacos: bavette, chorizo, and vegetarian (mushrooms & onions...). Found them to be under-seasoned and lacked toppings; nothing special. The french fries served on top were a little undercooked. You're essentially getting corn tortilla topped with cheese and a meat. The salsas they had to offer were good and so was the price point. Will try somewhere else next time.
Small chalkboard menu. 6 $ for any kind of taco. 3 types of homemade salsa (really good). The flavour is very unique and very good. Place seems to be family run and they are friendly.Just a heads up : you may not find a place to sit. It's a very small space and seems pretty popular. They do offer a stand up counter, but that too was full when we were there.
Montreal does not have too many places for tacos. Although this is a little out of the way, closes way too early, and serves fries on the taco, I still like to go back.6.5 for one taco. Two tacos and you will be quite satisfied, no matter what kind you get.
Wasn't impressed by the food, the decor, the service, etc... I don't recommend this place....do yourself a favour, eat dried chillies instead, it will be fresher and more pleasant.
