Second Cup - Montréal

On our way back to our bed and breakfast later in the evening, we decided to stop and search for a sweet treat on a whim. It turned out to be a great decision, as the restaurant stocked Premiere Moisson pastries. We indulged in sweet treats and were highly satisfied. The oatmeal cookie was sweet, oaty, and chewy, while the baba aux pommes was dense, flavorful, and moist. The strawberry cheesecake was delicious, although not quite as amazing as the NYC cake from Two Little Red Hens. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed it - it was smooth, creamy, and rich. The server was cheerful, friendly, and incredibly helpful, a true asset to the cafe. Overall, it was a wonderful pit stop with delicious treats. Yum.

I just needed to use the restroom and I asked politely if I could. The man behind the counter said unless I bought something, access to restrooms was denied. I could have bought a coffee, even though I did not not need it. But coffee houses, in particular those from a large chain should not deny such services to public. Will never switch to this coffee chain!

This cafe is very close to where I stay and I generally visit this cafe to get smoothies and pastries. Of so many pastry shops that I have tried in Montreal, this cafe offers one of the best pastries. Definitely look forward to having a pastry again!

Whenever I visit Montreal, I enjoy going to Second Cup because I'm tired of seeing Starbucks everywhere in U.S. cities. I love trying out different coffee options and recommend trying a hot or cold latte from Second Cup. You won't be let down.

At this restaurant, the staff working behind the counter show great warmth and make an effort to get to know you. They are supportive of your French language skills, but are also happy to converse with you in English. The environment is comfortable and often filled with graduate students. In the summer, there is outdoor seating with a great view of Rue Saint Laurent. It is definitely worth a visit, as it is much better than any Starbucks you may be considering. The music played overhead is also much more enjoyable.
