Il Galateo - Montréal

My girlfriend and I came to the restaurant on our trip in Montréal. We were wandering where we have the last dinner in Montréal.

My friends took me to a little gem of an Italian restaurant in Cote-Des-Neiges last evening.

Huge surprise on this little Italian restaurant. An impeccable and warm service, a very well executed and very tasteful kitchen.To be recommended without hesitation.

The restaurant is large, but rarely filled: it is located in the heart of a mid-popular half-student district. It is a real Italian restaurant, with real Italian food (which is not necessarily very common in North America). the only difference with the Italian: the price. It's a nice place to have dinner at two or even more, I'm going there regularly. the owner and server is very nice although quite discreet. The service is great.

On a cold Saturday night, we were looking for comfort food, and we found it here. All the meals were delicious - several types of pasta, risotto and veal parmesan. Specific comments 1 - a 'real' caesar salad - you could taste the freshness, the anchovies in the dressing, and no skimping on the parmesan. 2 - the veal was thinly sliced and layered with sauce and cheese - the best we've had in awhile. 3 - the tiramisu - amazing and should not be missed. A lovely evening with great service. A real gem!
