On my way back home to Ottawa, I stopped to buy the Tarte de Provence, which is a savoury vegetarian pie made with a béchamel sauce, caramelized onions and zucchini and covered with sliced tomatoes and spices in a beautiful flaky crust. When I got home, I heated it up and my daughters and sister thought they had died and went to heaven. It is that good! I highly recommend this place. Oh yes, I also bought some chocolates which were divine! Yum!
On our way to Jean Talon market, we stopped by Gascogne and had Irish cream latte and cinnamon cappuccino along with multi red fruit danish and chestnut buche de Noel.
Cette pâtisserie est géniale ! Tout est bon. La key lime pie est à tomber à terre! Leurs pâtisseries d'Halloween sont très belles. Gascogne est devenue mon rituel pâtisserie du dimanche.
Don't have a sweet tooth, but I was very tempted by the vitrines in this old-style patisserie right between Westmount & NDG. All your old favourites are there, as well as modern takes on lots of tartine variants, including my favourite: tomato and caramelised onion. The peach and apricot tarts would put any French patissier to shame, and the mille feuille selection is to-die-for. Great coffee, excellent range of tea and tisanes -- what are you waiting for??!!
Que de joie d'avoir enfin une Gascogne au Marché. Il faut prendre les petits gâteaux glacés des produits congelés... À se rouler à terre. Les viennoiseries sont délicieuses. Les plats à emporter de très bons dépanneurs. Bon appétit!
