Salmon was way over cooked to the point of being unchewable and the fettuccine was undercooked! Friends ordered pasta with clams (pasta raw) and lasagna (cold in middle).Think again before visiting.
This place came recommended so we went to try it out. The portions are ok...the food tastes good. Our server Sam was awesome. Service was slow because of understaffing. The chocolate mousse cake and creme Brulee are worth trying. Overall I'm conflicted about this place.....did I think the food tasted good? Yes it did. Was my experience overall such that I would want to come back here? More likely not...
Well, I felt like I had a warm ravioli from Costco, some warm Italian beer from Sorel Tracy Québec power outage can excuse some of it) and cold bread with butter. Well a cook of my friends told me that bread was served cold since 25 years in restaurant… which perhaps explain why I cook my sh1t at home. The bill for my friend and I was 65$ and really, I would had been happier bringing my own beer at a burger stand. Perhaps I’ll have to travel to Italy to taste the real sh1t! Sorry for me visiting your place!
First time eating here with my family. It started off well with the service and appetizers. Wehad the arancini and calamari. My husband and oldest son had the osso buco. The meat was tender and it was accompanied by spinach tagliatelle. We were a little surprised by that. Maybe they ran out of regular? My husband said it was too salty and my son didn’t finish his pasta. He said it was ok.My youngest son had the lasagna and my mother in law had the vongole. They both said it was ok.I ordered the pollo parmigiana and it was terrible. I took the first two bites and it tasted funny. I took it apart to see what kind of meat it was. I cut up pieces for my family to try and they said the same thing.I usually never complain but I told the waiter that it was not good and asked if it was chicken. He confirmed that it was but I was not convinced. I did not eat it.We felt so bad that my mother in law who was kind enough to take us out spent almost $300 for mediocre food.So I’m sorry but I would pass on this restaurant. The whole idea of a cute little family Italian restaurant is appealing but I highly doubt they would serve the pollo parmigiana that I had at their home to their their own family and friends. My suggestion would be for them to remove it from the menu. If they can’t maintain the quality then they should not serve that to paying customers.
Didn’t feel like cooking so went walking on Sherbrooke and decided to try Pasta Casareccia as I’ve always seen a lot of people walking in and out.Nice staff but a bit underwhelmed by the food. While it was good I feel like there is somewhat a lack in presentation and refinement for the price (20+ for one dish). As seen in the pictures: sauce is thrown on without care and the bread is cheap for a paid dish.I also did not like that we tried to buy two cannolis to go at the end but we’re told it’s better to go to the counter if it’s to go because the prices are different which rubbed me the wrong way because I dislike when prices are not uniform across takeout and sit down.I would still consider going back as the service was quick and the food enjoyable especially the freshness of the pasta!
