We walked to Mariposa only to be told by the owner that we had to reserve by phone ! We saw 6 empty tables at 17:45. Why did he forget to say it on the FB event poster ? I guess we went there twice ? for those who know that line …

Down to earth nice place, still open for takeout food, can't wait for everything to open back up because the open mic nights are super cool

I had the pleasure of attending the post-Covid reopening night at this cafe on June 25th. The event took place on the terrace with live jazz and blues music, making for a unique and enjoyable experience. This cafe, which also serves as a bistro and live music entertainment venue, is a rare find in Montreal. The owner, a well-known and respected musician in Quebec, has been involved in the music and club scene for many years. The menu offers a variety of casual food options such as pizza, burgers, salads, as well as a selection of wine, beer, and delicious desserts. This cafe/bistro is a reminiscent of the golden years of Montreal when coffee houses like this were abundant in the 60s and early 70s. The talented musicians and singers who perform here are all local and experienced, ensuring a memorable evening for patrons. I highly recommend making reservations in advance as this place is sure to become a favorite among visitors. You will definitely want to come back for more!
