We ordered the pork griot which comes with plenty of rice and beans, two plantains, a tiny side of macaroni salad and a tiny soup for $12.95 tax included. I don't think one person can finish it all. Good flavors however I wish the pork wasn't as dry. And the staff should maybe smile a little, it wouldn't hurt.
Really good here. Do not confuse with neo meli melo restaurant on Belanger. That spin off restaurant must be a front for laundering. They are rude expensive the food is not fresh cold no taste
Home cooked (you can smell the aromas from a while away) their takeaway food is great but they use styrofoam. Be warned and bring your own containers. Interesting selection of all sorts of Caribbean food items in their grocery. Have to order your takeout food at the cash register u pfront, but it's all prepared in the back...
We went on our first day in Montreal, and the place was surprisingly easy to find from the subway. The guy working at the register was very helpful: He let us know about their generous portions, and recommended that we order just one meal for the 2 of us. This was great advice it was a ton of food! We ordered the griot (pork), which came with a couple plantains and an absurd amount of rice and beans. The rice was perfectly seasoned, and the meat was very tender.
This is NOT a sit down restaurant. It is a small grocery store that also serves cooked food to go. You order and pay for your food up front then pick it up at the counter in the back. The food is really good but what you should know is that every order comes with a large portion of du riz a poids colle (Haitian rice and beans), bananes peses (fried plantains), and a salad. This was not totally clear to me when I ordered. The portions are very generous. We were feeding six people and ordered four dishes. Everyone ate very well and we still had leftovers. We went on a Friday night and there was a long line of people. Definitely worth the wait. We did not order in advance but I just checked out their website and the menu is online so I would definitely order in advance. Their website says that delivery is also available.
