Marché De La Villette - Montréal

We went for brunch with a group of 3 people. We were very disappointed by the food, both in portion size and quality. Although I am aware that Old Montreal can be expensive, I have never felt like I wasted my money as much as I did here. The service was good and the atmosphere was very nice, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the poor quality of the food.

Original and beautiful decoration, amazing staff (special thanks to Gaël), excellent food (kudos to the chef) and we tried many dishes , very nice music from France's golden ages... It's our 3rd time here (we came with our family this time), and on Christmas they had changed the music and the decoration to celebrate it, including a fireplace. One of the best spots we've been to, definitely recommend!

This was such delicious honest and generous food. We have a fussy 7yo and it has been a struggle to feed him good food with no sauces or spices or frills. But half a chicken, smoked sausage, crumbed chicken, fries, gravy and salad later, we finally nailed it (and it was great value price wise). The French onion soup was the best I’ve had in Montreal, hands down, and cocktails hit the spot. Servers friendly and warm and the place was like a little cheery corner of Paris. Love loved it!

I went to this restaurant for brunch today and had a pretty average experience. It was crowded because of the rain outside, and the food was just okay. My main issue was that I ordered a $12 sandwich and was asked by the waitress if I wanted fries or a salad with it. I assumed it was included, but then found out that the fries cost extra when I received my bill. Another problem was that there was no English menu available. Old Montreal is a popular tourist destination, so not having an English menu seems like a way to try to make more money from non-French speakers. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have no other option.
