Le Muscadin - Montréal

This place is more well known to locals than tourists so I feel fortunate to have discovered. The menu is excellent and wine selection tremendous. Service was some of the best I have experienced. The owner is a passionate Italian wine lover and can offer great information and background to the wines he personally imports.This is apparently a new location for a longstanding place. Ambience is quiet.A bit more pricey but do not let this discourage you since the value is worth it.

Excellent restaurant of fine Italian cuisine. service is excellent, you can rely on their wine suggestion and say wine cellar. really a big-class restaurant. a nice gift to make to your spouse (e).

Great new setting and location, very cozy and warm decor, more intimate and welcoming, also the food and service are stepped up a notch for this restaurant which was excellent at its previous location on Notre-Dame! We had the Veal Chop and the Sweetbreads, amazing taste, simply succulent. The wine, as usual, was a discovery, a wine from a small family domaine in the Marche selected by Leo...it was served in a nice decanter, a bit cooled so it would be at its optimum temp while eating and served in beautiful large wine glasses that made the tasting an event. Its those small details that when added up make for an unforgettable experience. By the way, the wine was excellent, nicely balanced, smooth and quite long...paired very well with the meal. A tour of the wine cellar is a must if you can, the wines are all carefully selected with nice “off the beaten path” surprises that we don’t find here. The service as usual, was top notch but I noticed that the waiters were even more in tune with the customers, they were always there just as we needed them without having to ask for them, well done. For desert, We had the Zeppole’s and the Cannoli’s, so good and addictive…as Aldo mentioned, a very “light and airy” desert! Leo served us a very nice Passito di Pantelleria, sweet but with a nice acidity that made the wine fresh and lip smacking.It was a very nice diner and an even more enjoyable night because of the attention given to us by Leo and his staff, They always make me feel like I am part of the family! A special mention to his daughter Josie who administers the restaurant like a pro! We shall return for sure, highly recommended!

They had just moved into a new place -- all things were not going good but they made everything good with fantastic service ! This place has always been about serving great Italian food - give them a try -- they prepared the veal at our table
