Although they lack the personnel and the waiting times might be sometimes a little bit longer, the quality of the food, the personnel attitude and the atmosphere can great the conditions for a very nice evening.
We ordered the coconut shrimp 11.00 for 4. They came and there was literally NO flavor or coconut to be found! FAMOUS fried chicken was burnt and no spices or flavor? 75.00 for nothing! I will never go back.
While the food was OK, it was nowhere near as good as it has been in the past. Through no fault of the wait staff, the restaurant was completely under serviced and we waited two hours for our meal. Having said that, the staff could have asked if we wanted more drinks while we were waiting. The staff was waiting for the food to be prepared and had little else to do. We were one of the lucky ones as we were some of the first to order our food when we arrived.
Let me just say that we have been going to this restaurant for almost 15 years and this is our go to place because the food has always been a 10 out of 10 and the service top notch to the point that we’ve always compared the service of other restaurants to this one. We had dinner there the other night and it was the first time back in almost 2 years on account of the pandemic. Straight of the gate we knew things were different. The shrimp in the beer battered shrimp slid right out of the breading and the dipping sauce for the gator tail wasnt the same. Not the end of the world. But their menu is reduced. The best dish (we always thought) was the prime rib. Gone! Same thing for chicken etouffee. I settled on a Cajun linguini with shrimp. What I received were noodles swimming in olive oil with tons of baked garlic and no flavour let alone Cajun flavour. La Lousienne…I don’t know where your cook went but please get him back.
