Probably because the restaurant was full. I really enjoyed the look of the place. It's very different from what I've seen. The food was good too but they do not have a big choice of drinks.
We visiting this establishment on a Friday night and thank goodness we had made reservations earlier in the week. The place was hopping! Our table over looked the kitchen area and was well placed. So much so, that we kept ordering more food. (after seeing deliciousness being prepared and going out to other tables) This is a nice place to share plates.I don't believe this place has a set menu but don't despair, everything is wonderful and fresh, fresh, fresh! We started off with two appetizers.A zucchini and okra tempura. It was lightly battered and there was barely any oil evident - really fantastic! Drizzled over it was a beautiful home made ranch dressing. We also shared a matane shrimp and avocado salad. My mouth waters as I type. Yes, that good! For the main course, we had the fish tacos and the pork tacos. Both absolutely yummy! When deciding on our appetizers we had seen a tomato and cornbread salad and entertained that idea but had opted for the above until we saw it being prepared and sent out to another table. In the midst of our tacos, we ordered that too. No regrets! The libations were delicious as well.Go there! You won't be disappointed.
Creative and tasty food, eclectic and fun atmosphere. Very slow service and the portions are small for the price.
Visited with about 10 friends for Cinco de Mayo. While I know this is truly an American holiday, I gotta say we were pretty disappointed they didn't do anything themed. When we booked the reservation, the woman was very nice but when we were there in person and figured out she was our waitress (which made us super happy to meet her!) she seemed to turn on us. She was pretty flustered and rude telling me at one point it was impossible not to have avocado on the carnitas taco only for it to be suddenly possible 20 minutes later. She would take one order from the person who got her attention first, but ignore asking if anyone else needed anything. We're pretty laid back peeps (after work late 20s mid 30s pregaming early) so would have appreciated a more relaxed experience. The benches we sat on were uncomfortable. I don't know, it was pretty weird. Food and drinks were good, but if you are looking for Mexican vibes that match the cuisine, there's better places. Good news is that the best donut place in MTL (IMO) is next door so if you get that craving and they're still open, there's that!
Did you know that @grumman78 does all-you-can-eat #TacoTuesdays!? With selections like fish tacos (my fave, always! , banh mi-style pulled pork tacos, grilled beef with mango, and the vegetarian gobi halloumi tacos, you'll need to taste all this deliciousness to believe it.
