I love this place and the location is good for the exploration of the market or little italy.
I was not impressed by definitiw, a bit expensive for the quality and taste of food. To be honest, when we visited montreal we have better food for less I had nothing to do with paying high prices for good quality and tasty food! in the rule when restaurants owners start cutting corners...is when they run into this type of problems. I visited several times before pandemia and I had a better experience, this time went with my daughters and tried their maul, the enchiladas and also the pozole (soup) and tasted not authentic Mexican food. the churros were expensive, and were served cold and dry, very unsatisfactory, definitiw not what we expected on Easterday! I'm sorry for my honest opinion. it would not be recommended.
We have searched for a place that has gluten-free options because one of us has celiac. we found this delicious place, the original Mexican cuisine served, all dishes were great, generous and delicious. we asked many in connection with food sensitivity and the host...was patient for all our asking. beautiful atmosphere and hospitality.
We arrived at 17:00 a.m. after a long day in the market for Jeans-Talon and drove to midday. our children, especially our youngest who has celiac and needs gluten-free food. After searching for a suitable restaurant we came to el rey del taco. after knowing that there are gluten-free...options that we decided to stay and we did not regret it. the Mexican dishes were delicious and generous. the service was excellent, a great effort to assure us that the dishes are gluten-free. we recommend it very much.
It is probably very authentic but I must say that we did not appreciate that much the authenticity. I would highly recommend the burrito special and forget the enchiladas. The service was friendly made with simplicity.
