Delices Erable & Cie - Montréal

Mainly tourist goods (much of which is readily available at most of the souvenir shops); they also have a large selection of interesting culinary options: maple powder, maple granules, maple chunks, maple “caviar“, as well as a large variety of sauces, jams and toppings,...which friendly staff will describe/demonstrate for those interested. The baked goods are so-so, the maple chocolates are pretty good; they also have gelato. A fair amount of seating, which can fill quickly when crowded (which slows service noticeably).

Went in without knowing what to do inside. The cafe/shop looks very interesting. There are different types of canadian snack/light food, which are good to have as souvenirs. I just had an ice cream there and to my surprise, I liked the texture and taste....It came with cranberries too. Yummy!

I have gotten many treats from this store. They are extremely helpful and kind. Maple everything!! Even the ice cream/sorbet is sweetened with maple syrup. It’s an absolute must stop when you are in Montreal!

Well made gelati and sorbets about eight flavors of each. Was nice change of pace to have a broad selection of sorbets instead of having a dozen gelati and only two sorbets to choose from. Both the gelati and sorbets were incredibly smooth ..basically like thick yogurt or whipped cream. The tastes were good but not strong. Good choice if you like super smooth ice cream, but not if your preference is to something with more texture and heft.

This place is located in Old Montreal near the port. It is a HUGE tourist attraction, especially for individuals not from Canada. I imagine that this place is extremely busy around Christmas time for maple-related treats. I went in the summer (august) and it wasn't...very busy. It is a quaint cafe/small shop that offers maple on a stick in snow (YES, DURING ALL TIMES OF THE YEAR), maple-flavored coffee's, ice cream, cookies (maple leaf, but very over priced), and baked goods. The Maple Muffin is by far the best treat you can buy (other than maple on a stick in the snow) and it was relatively inexpensive for a specialty treat It's more like a cake ... than a muffin :D delicious!!
