Weekdays it is busy with students meeting for papers. You line up to order , pay and then find a table . If the first floor Is too busy you can find room on their second floor. You can find a place the lunch is brought to you carry a number on a stand you placenon your table they will find you . They also offer To rent one of the multiple areas where you can have a meeting . Parking is a little tricky in the area . Agood variety on the menu with healthy offerings !
It is a nice spot if you wanna have a bite or a cafe while you are in the area, the prices compared to the quality is not bad, it is a very warm ambiance and I would definitely return.
Stumbled upon this place during our visit to Montreal. We were on the hunt for something to eat late at night and this was one of the few places around that was still open. It seemed however that they had either stopped serving food for the day, or had run out of everything. Disappointed and hungry, we left. But, we were all so impressed with the atmosphere of this cafe that our group agreed to come back for brunch at least once during the visit. Housed in a building that was a former home, this cozy little cafe makes you feel like you're just hanging out in your friend's living room. The decor is a nice touch. One thing I was a fan of right away: this place actually had bold, iced, black coffee. (It is a personal pet peeve of mine when the only iced coffee that's available is cold brew, call me a coffee snob! This place is a good choice for a healthy brunch. I tend to favor a heartier morning meal, but if I wanted to opt to eat on the lighter side I would go with this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful, coffee was good, great atmosphere and good place to get some work done if you wanted to bring your laptop saw plenty of available plugs.
I visited Caravane Cafe with a friend one wintry evening. Although it would be a bit of an exaggeration to praise the place for warmth as compared to the windy outside, the atmosphere was still likable, wooden shelves stashed with books inviting to study. However, the tables hardly make it to squeeze two A4 sheets of paper on them. Strong as you need to be to suffer this crampedness, the coffee you may order won't be much of help. Weak and diluted, it says filter, but filtered how many times? Fill your stomach? You certainly can–with plain bread, because if you hope to see figs in your fig sandwich, don´t expect to see more than just a few barely noticeable pips hidden in one–yes, one, I counted twice–slice of Prosciutto ham. For dessert we took a biscuit and a croissant. The former was broken, so we got some more broken pieces extra. If they only were fresh, maybe they would not be so disgustingly sweet. The latter featured a perfect moonlike-crescent shape, yet its insides were rather dried out, as if it took time for the dough to develop these ridges I so much adore. Overall, a decent place to study. No culinary exploits will divert your attention.
I visited Caravane Cafe a couple of times during the past month. I went around midday each time. It's a really busy place! There is mostly a young crowd, students working on their laptops abound. I tried the Palestinian salad and carrot cake. the salad was really tasty. The carrot cake was good, but not as moist as I would usually expect, although the cream cheese icing was yummy. They have a great selection of tea. The coffee is also good, but the small size is really small. The WiFi is good. I would recommend this cafe for a place to get work done, or just hang out and people watch.
