We only needed diner fare so we settled on burgers, fries, onion rings and they were just great. It is a very popular restaurant filled with the over 40s crowd, generally having dinner early. The atmosphere is all about good service. It's generally quiet and quaint. It's definitely worth it and not expensive either. The wait staff ... young, pleasant and bilingual.
We went there for breakfast on Sunday morning. We asked for a benedictin egg dish and a sausage egg dish, bacon beans and roasts. the sauce on the Benedictine eggs was completely frozen! The dish was cold. The other dish, barely a bit warm. extremely personal service. The floor is covered with an old carpet full of stains. Anyway, if I could put a zero on this site, that's about what it would deserve.
Had breakfast here on Canada Day, July 1st. The place was seriously understaffed. As far as I could tell there was one person in the kitchen and ONE person doing everything else out front. This is not a small place. This one woman had to clear and clean tables when customers left, give new customers menus and take orders, then serve the orders, give the bills and then ring them up at the cash register. The place had lots of breakfast customers and this one server was literally run off her feet. It seem unconscionable of the owner not to have at least two people working the front of the restaurant. That said, the food was fine and each breakfast plate came with a nice, large assortment of fresh fruits.
We arrived early at the start of our next leg on the journey. It was already busy, however we were greeted and when the server realized we were English speakers, she spoke to us in very clear English and made us welcome. We all ordered different items, including their Brunch Plate, which included cretons, a slice of meat pie and eggs. It was well presented and very tasty. We all agreed that this was one of the best meals of our trip across Canada. There is plenty to choose from and I recommend that you try something new.
