Trattoria Il Moccolo - MONTESILVANO

When I saw that there were over 100 reviews in Italian and only 3 in English I knew it was a local place. Arrosticini is the local favorite... made with sheep. Did not try the liver version. Excellent. Fantastic value with the Lunch Touristico... try the Penne Arabiatra. Dogs must stay outside. Outside dining is noisy by the busy street.

Montesilvano is famous for its skewers (Arrosticini). This place had good feedback, so we gave it a try. First time we took a table outside. Nothing fancy, it 's on a main street, run by a friendly family. But it 's a place you will feel welcome and at home. Ordered some Arrosticini (beef and fegato ....liver). A bunch of cold beers and some roasted chicken. They seem to have a really good grill here. Both the skewers and the chicken were nicely grilled, good roasty flavours. Beef and liver quality was high, nice and tender. And just about a buck each. Great value. Came back another day. This time for take-out. More of the Arrosticini. Really just takes a few minutes. Was still the same great quality. A really good option for a quick and easy meal. They do have a lot of other items on the menu. Looked really good, but we didn 't have time to come back another time. Maybe next time.

We have been so disappointed with Tripadvisor addresses directions recently, so many have not worked! We found this gem simply because we were walking round searching for another restaurant listed on the site, but never found. It’s a cute busy family run place with a basic menu that disguises really tasty food. A few dishes, each done really well.

Io e mia moglie, ogni volta che siamo a Montesilvano, non ci manca mai di pranzare alla trattoria il moccolo. cosa dire...antipasti e primi piatti, con pasta fatta a mano, delizioso, e arrosti che posso dire. assolutamente superlativo. la posizione è molto bella e accogliente e il posto non è rumoroso. Insomma, se vai a Montesilvano, vai al ristorante Moccolo, sarai piacevolmente soddisfatto.
