Ordered a honey-green tea **** with boba. the drink was okay.
The exterior and interior of this place are really nice, making the teashop look quite promising. But that's pretty much all that's promising about this place.Stopped by while they were still having their grand opening special (buy one drink, get the second for 50% off). There were no customers besides the workers' friends sitting in the store, so most of them were standing behind the counter idly chatting. Their menu focuses around their cheese tea series as well as their milk and fruit teas. It was a little frustrating to not know the specifics of the drinks on the menu. I wanted to see the difference between the Brulee Milk Tea, Bubble Milk Tea, Brulee Bubble Milk Tea, and the Devil Wu Wu. The worker helping me wasn't too fluent in English and had a difficult time communicating the differences. I ended up being a little more confused than I was before I had asked her.But I decided to go with the Brulee Bubble Milk Tea 5.25) drink comes in a standard sized cup with some yellow along the cup as well as boba. The top doesn't look like a bruleed cap, which I was expecting. Upon first sip, the milk tea overwhelmed the brulee flavoring but there was a subtle aftertaste/hint of a slightly bruleed taste after sipping the milk tea. Flavor is so subtle though that I don't know if I'd be able to tell the difference between a regular milk tea and that bruleed tea. Milk flavor is stronger than the tea; nothing special about the drink, as it tasted like a very sweet milk tea. I did like the boba pretty chewy, just a tad overcooked, and had a sweet flavor. But for $5.25 and not a large sized drink, I expected a lot more. Also tried their Cheese Tea with Oolong Tea and boba 4.75 and $0.50 for boba). Like other reviewers have mentioned, their cheese foam is actually really tasty. It's light enough to be fluffy, but there's a good amount of flavor in each sip. The oolong tea was also pretty legit. It tasted slightly bitter, but had that pure, wholesome tea flavor that I enjoy when drinking teas like this. Not a fan of oolong tea in general, but I could taste the quality of the tea. The boba was also on point, so this wasn't a failed drink.I like the cute colors of the various couches inside the shop. The presentation of the dry tea leaves in the glass display was also a nice touch. But I think they really need to add some descriptions to their menu or be able to describe the drinks to customers as that can lead to major confusion. They're located in the busy Deerfield Plaza (next to Diamond Bakery), which can be both good and bad can get customers after they finish eating hot pot or fried chicken, but parking gets pretty packed during busy hours.tl;dr New teahouse that opened up in Monterey Park. Believe they're a chain drink shop from China with a location in Fullerton as well. The drinks were just alright was pretty disappointed with the Brulee Bubble Milk Tea. The Cheese Tea with Oolong wasn't bad. Don't know if I'd return as there wasn't really anything that made this place stand out for me.There's also a $10 minimum in order to use credit cards.
Came here twice and tried both fruity and milk based drinks. Their tea and drinks are pretty good for the most part. I've liked all that I have tried so far. The reason why I am not giving them a 5 star though is because their boba is inconsistent. One of the times I went the boba was a little hard and I ended up not eating it and just drank the tea. The other time the texture was perfect, soft and chewy. If they just work on that, their drinks would be very good!
