Club House - MONTE ARGENTARIO

We stumbled upon what we thought would be an incredible experience and place to stay; it looked like a great place to stay and is a PGA rated course. They just had the Italian seniors PGA tournament last weekend!! We want to play golf, enjoy their villas, maybe the hotel for some time in the summers, and it’s an all inclusive amenities: golf, tennis, paddleball, pools, as well as spa and wellness center too. The young man, Sabastian, who received us at the front gate and reception desk “was fabulous and very receptive”’ to us; with my very little Italian to see if we could come in to take the tour? He even invited us to sit down for lunch. We felt welcomed (exchanged a Bongiorno) with the owner and head chef as we made our way to the patio for lunch. I thought that we may want to return someday with family and friends. INSTEAD, as they cleared away and took care of the end of a group for lunch, we received a beverage approximately 20 minutes after arrival. At over an hour had passed, I finally approached them with “Siamo stati dimenticati?” Have we been forgotten? The young man looked at me and in Italian said “I’m not sure what you mean…” . I told him “ we have waited for over an hour for our lunch that was ordered over an hour ago,. The only other 2 women still here have come off the golf course and have been served and eaten, and we are now the only two that have not been served or even checked on once since our beverage.!” He approached my husband and my husband said they are rude, so we got up to leave. The waiter offered to take care of your drinks,. We were already appalled by the inability to not have even one person on staff to check on us while they have been cleaning up from lunch, including the kitchen and staff getting ready to leave! We felt it best for us to just leave and we let the reception desk, Sabastian and the rest of the reception staff know what has happened! Not a good experience at all!!!

Had lunch here with my family. Food and service are absolutely outstanding,had wine pairing with fish and meat dishes,I can't fault the service or the wine/food served. The staff is so friendly,not pretentious and easy to talk to, Luca was absolutely outstanding!!! With a small chat,he understood exactly what kind of wine I like I am usually quite fussy and he provided 5 different wines. What an amazing experience and we are talking about booking another meal in a few days before I fly back to London!

We had a day of wellness and ended our stay here with a dinner. The atmosfere was nice but jnfortunately the restaurant was emoty. beautiful furniture but the food was a bit disappointing. I was still hungry by leaving, they serve half plates for the price they ask should be doubled. My advice for more clients: increase the amount of food or decrease the price.

We made a dinner reservation when we arrived at the Argentario Resort. We thought it was in the main restaurant in the resort, DamaDama, but soon realized it was closed and that our reservation was in the Golf Clubhouse restaurant. I did not expect much but we were pleasantly surprised! The waitstaff was excellent, very courteous and very attentive, we enjoyed a fantastic meal which included fresh ravioloni, and a main course of cinghiale over creamy polenta. Our waiter made some great wine suggestions and we enjoyed glasses of two different wines from the region. Dessert was also excellent.
