Backyard Solé East - MONTAUK

I genuinely enjoy visiting Backyard when we go to Montauk. It's a very relaxing vibe and a wonderful spot of al fresco dining. During the day, add the pool and some cocktails and it's a solid day well spent off the beach if you want to switch up yourexperience.

A nice restaurant that’s right in “the backyard” of the Sole East resort. Indoor and outdoor seating surrounded by lots of greenery, very nice setting. The menu is small but the food comes out really well prepared and tasty. There’s also a small barfor cocktails and beer.

Amazing food!! If you like eggplant, you have to get the pasta à la Norma. The grilled octopus appetizer was also AMAZING! And the creamy polenta side dish was DELICIOUS!!!! We’ve been here before, will definitely return!!!!!

Such a surprisingly excellent meal! Everything was so fresh and fantastic. The grilled tuna with polenta was truly phenomenal but we loved all of our dishes and the cocktails the service was wonderful. Highly recommend

I wish I had read all the reviews before coming. It pretends to be a high end Montauk restaurant but the food quality is not good. For example, the clam chowder was watered down with few clams, the fluke crudo was tasteless, the hummus on theMediterranean plate was terrible, the jalapeño in the cocktail had no kick. This chef needs to step up his game if he wants tocompete at this price point in the Hamptons.
