Restaurant Le Comptoir - Montardit

From start to finish line treated like vips. great atmosphere and good eating. if they order the salat du comptoir, make sure they get one for their partner. you'll get out of here!

We enjoyed each other today. the eating and the wine are local and tasty enjoyed on a beautiful terrace, the interesting things to see. the employees are cordial and welcoming, so would definitely recommend to lunch or evening. especially when one of their concerts is on.

Wir waren als Paar im August 2016 während unseres Urlaubs Essen hier. Have been here as couple during our summer holidays in august 2016. Wir hatten 3 Gänge, Vorspeise mit Salat und Aubergine, Hauptgang Burger Le Comptoir und Eis Sorbet zum Dessert. We had...a Salad Aubergine starter, main dish was Burger Le Comptoir and dessert was ice cream sorbet. Da die Karte wechselt wird man zukünftig ggf. andere Produkte angeboten bekommen. Due to menu changes, maybe not every dish will be found in the future. Alles war hausgemacht, es gab keine Fertigprodukte, die Küchenleistung war absolut top! Everything was house made, there where no convenience, kitchen performance was great! Der Service war super, mindestens 3 sprachig (Deutsch, Englisch, Französich,) schnell und sehr freundlich. Service was outstanding, at least 3 spoken languages (French, English, German,) he was quick and very friendly. Die Lage ist sehr ländlich und im Sommer sitzt man toll auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf den gepflegten Garten. The location is very nice, there are very nice places outside at the beautiful garden. While visiting St. Girons we were looking for some local music and lucked upon an evening at the Le Comptoir in Montardit. Tucked away in the country side and part of a golf course they had an evening with local musicians arriving up French swing...music by Les Galopins. Fabulous group and great food, with desserts to die for. Nice patio with Greta views but this night it was coolish so we moved in doors and had the treat of watching the chef prepare all the meals. Every plate done from scratch, no mass cooking here! And such pleasure by the chef in his preparation and presentation. He was as entertaining as the musicians : . And his chocolate dessert was a dream, delicate and layered with favors and served with good, hot espresso. Super place and lots of fun.

My husband and I visited this restaurant twice for dinner during our 4-day stay in the Pyrenees, and our only regret was that we didn't also visit on the other night that we ate out. Our first booking was made my our hosts at the...Haras Picard du Sant, who have an excellent relationship with the restaurant which ensures the diner a great table and service. The restaurant itself is situated about 1km from the village of Lasserre, and from the outside looks like quite a plain bistro. however once inside we were greeted by Davide, who on learning we were English, was happy to explain anything we needed in English (sometimes the schoolgirl French doesn't extend to items on a menu). The restaurant was simply decorated in a modern style, and in good weather dinner is served on the terrace. While perusing the menu we were offered aperitifs (a very nice Muscat) and a hors d'oeuve of soft fromage with a tomato salad and corriander. The menu was not extensive, but there was something for everyone. From the menu my husband ordered a Tartare of salmon and cucumber, followed by a fillet of bass. I order rillettes of Poulet followed by Filet mignon of porc. There is nothing more to be said about the food other than it arrived perfectly timed with us finishing our aperitif, and that all items ordered were delicious. For dessert we chose cheese-cake (although it was unlike any other cheese-cake we have tasted) and a Trianon of Chocolate, which i can wholeheartedly recommend to any chocolate lover. The meal was accompanied by a superb bottle of Corbieres Rose (recommended by Davide). The best surprise however came at the end of our meal, when a bill of less than Euros80 was presented to us. I believe there is live music once a week, and that they are Closed Tuesday Wednesday (but please phone and check). This is probably one of the best meals I have ever had in France!
