Re Di Macchia - Montalcino

A really nice place to eat dinner in Montalcino. The restaurant has a homey atmosphere and a friendly owner. The food was delicious.

If you like international food or pizza pasta this restaurant isn 't for you. However, if you love authentic family cooking, local wines and great service with a smile then don 't go anywhere else. We visited both nights of our visit to Montalcino. It 's a small, family run restaurant on the main street through town. Antonio runs the front of house with enthusiasm, perfect English and no little skill. I think that his wife does most (all ? of the cooking and produces amazingly tasty local dishes combined with Michelin level presentation. All of the courses were delicious but the Tiramisu deserves a special mention. I always order Tiramisu at restaurants in Italy since I believe it 's a good guide to the genuine culinary skills of the chef. The Tiramisu at Re di Macchia is the best I 've ever tasted ! It 's a special place if you appreciate local culture great food at a very reasonable price make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment.

I couldn’t recommend this place more. Traditional and delicious food at a reasonable price. Great choice of local wines. The waiter was very welcoming and spoke great English. A lovely old building.

Cena molto buona! Menù degustazione con piatti tipici ottima e ad un prezzo onesto. Locale accogliente e curato, personale gentile e disponibile. Consigliata la prenotazione qualche giorno prima !

Ottima esperienza. Cameriere molto professionale che ci ha spiegato anche cose interessanti sui vini di Montalcino. L tagliata tenera e buona ed il primo di pasta fresca al ragù super buoni. Ci tornerei e lo consiglierei.
