The drive is interesting, we arrived ,there was a big wedding. nut srrvice was impeccable and the food amazingly refined . will be back for sure ! what a great dinner
Let me say at the outset that I had a good meal here, but I was expecting even better given the raving reviews. A 'rosato di cervo ' deer with olive oil was pleasantly delicate the most delicate dish of the meal , aptly accompanied by a quince jelly. I thought it mentioned grana on the menu but there wasn 't any in the dish no problem . Less successful was a lasagna with radicchio. The radicchio came in generous amount, delivering its nicely sour punch, but the lasagna itself formed an amorphous gloop with the bechamel sauce, and the cheese was not in evidence at all. A main of mixed boiled meats sausages including blood sausage, tongue, etc. was generous and hearty, with potatoes and krauts and 'canederli ' think dumplings on the side, as well as radish and mustard sauces. All good, but to be frank, for my taste, I was expecting more flavour from this dish. In the end, the most memorable item were the dumplings, one full of little goodies such as onions, herbs, perhaps speck, and the other darker and packed with flavour I honestly don 't know how it was made . Similar feelings I had about the other main of braised beef 'stufato ' , with the same dumpling as above and some vegetables. it was OK, but also lacked any depth of flavour. For sure the sauce should be improved, as it was flavourless. But did I clean the plate? Yes I did, so certainly it wasn 't bad! Desserts: one was excellent, a powerful and smooth chestnut creme brulee. The other one, a quince 'sformato ', was a bit dry and none too exciting, but I liked the chocolate ice-cream that came with it. We were in the 'bar room ', from which we enjoyed the corner of Paradise where this maso is located. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices are perhaps a little high for the 'trattoria ' type of food, but portions are very generous and, as I said, quality is good. I am happy to have tried this cuisine. A meal here has charming aspects. If I knew that they can deliver flavours as described in other reviews I would go back, but on the basis of this performance, once is enough for me, though I wish every success to the nice family that runs the maso.
The way to get there is a little winding, but when you get there you are rewarded by a beautiful view of the valley of the Adige and a very cozy place. outside a beautiful lawn where you can kiss from the sun on a bench near the little church of the cappuccini, from which you can admire the water mirror of boiler. inside a constellation of rooms made in different buildings connected to each other and very characteristic corners. beauty is also found in the presentation of the dishes. singular the plate holder obtained from a doga. beauty compensates a little what we lost on the front of the dishes. some defended themselves, but the liver, for example, was not even close to what you can get in any Venetian tractor. good the trout of the salmon of the valley up. delicious la strudel. very kind staff.
Classic mountain inn where you breathe a pleasant family air and you feel a little at home, although you enter for the first time. smiling faces, attention to guests and good education, are the ingredients of those who work there, besides logically to the dishes and wines proposed that blend well with the wonderful landscape that is offered on the valley of the Adige. If we want to talk about desserts. taste them as it is impossible to describe them: if you still have place to do the great. great value of money. Thank you all. mark
