Tk Cafe Hawaiian Bbq - Monrovia

I had a great experience at TK Cafe Hawaiian BBQ in uptown Monrovia. This small, family-run restaurant offers delicious Hawaiian-inspired plate lunches, especially for those who love meat. The restaurant is located in the Vons mall at the corner of Myrtle and Foothill, with plenty of free parking available. The chef and manager, Ken, was very friendly and helped me choose some specialties from the menu. I tried the Chicken Combo (BBQ Chicken and crispy Katsu Chicken) and the Hawaiian BBQ Mix (BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef, and Teriyaki Chicken). Both dishes came with white rice and Mac Salad. The BBQ Chicken was a standout, with flavorful and moist meat. I would definitely return for another Hawaiian plate lunch and give TK Cafe Hawaiian BBQ 5 stars compared to other similar restaurants in Monrovia.

The food was delicious and affordable. Our order was quickly prepared. Some may not enjoy the fact that it's primarily a takeout restaurant without a sit-down option.

Family dinner victory! Let me just say, before I ordered, I was already feeling good. The katsu was amazing. The kalua pork is a must-order if you're craving Hawaiian flavors - it's perfectly shredded and seasoned, and the sauces they offer are delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and the prices are very reasonable. We'll definitely be returning!

I ordered delivery of the Mahi-mahi with rice, but instead received it with macaroni and cheese. The meal was terrible - cold and disappointing. I do not eat fried food, and was surprised to find that the dish was fried and cold. I will not order from this restaurant again. I wasted $20 on a meal I couldn't even eat. This was junk food at its worst.
