The dishes here are not only delicious but also skillfully prepared, with a hint of sophistication in every bite. The menu offers a diverse array of options, from elevated comfort food to more refined dishes (duck, anyone?). Everything we have tried has been excellent. The only drawback we've encountered pertains to the desserts with caramelized sugar. It seems that someone in the kitchen might be overdoing it with the torch, resulting in sugar that's often more burnt than caramelized. This could use some improvement. On the positive side, the service is friendly, attentive, and prompt. We've had no issues in this regard, and on numerous occasions, we've been pleased by servers who go the extra mile. The prices are a bit high for Monroe (and even relatively steep for the Seattle area), but you have to pay for quality. Adam's prioritizes using the best ingredients, which inevitably comes with a higher price tag. You either support that commitment to quality or you don’t. We do, and we are thrilled to have discovered Adam's. We're confident you'll feel the same way after you give it a try.
We had an excellent meal overall. We arrived early to take advantage of happy hour. I chose to have four appetizers—calamari, sliders, clams, and wings—and they were all fantastic. My husband ordered the brisket since the rib eye was sold out from the previous night. We also enjoyed a flight of beers, a 12 Fruity Mule, and a Manhattan. We ended up sitting at the bar because there was a 45-minute wait for a table. I didn't realize Monroe would be so lively on the weekends that a reservation would be needed; I’ve learned my lesson! Everything was wonderful, and I definitely plan to return to try the rib eye.
This was our first visit to this restaurant, and I can't express how wonderful it was! From the moment we stepped inside, Ira greeted us with warmth and friendliness, bringing a vibrant energy to the atmosphere. Even though the place was bustling, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate walk-ins without reservations. The food was absolutely incredible! I started with the cornbread, which I highly recommend—you'll definitely want to try it! I could have eaten it all day! For my main course, I had the duck, and it was delicious! The prices are very reasonable, and I can't wait to return for more!
Although we've been here a few times before, we hadn't been here recently so stopped in for what we thought would be a great happy hour. It turns out we were right in a way... But not in other ways. It all started going downhill when we decided to order dinners, which included the Halibut dinner special and the vegetarian fresh pasta. The dinner special cost $29 and the pasta was $16. The pasta was very rich and flavorful, with mushrooms and a nice cream sauce and was very luscious, great texture.. the Halibut dinner, not so much. We did not love the onions on the fish, as we prefer lemon and tartar. It was good enough, but not for the price. The special did not include soup or a side salad, and we had to ask the server for rolls. Couscous that was served with it was unlike any we had ever had before, because it was actually crunchy. Either undercooked or not cooked with enough water. The server, who was quickly becoming obnoxious with his mannerisms and use of words, said the couscous was supposed to be al dente, and that he would try it also to check. Which he never did. So we continued quietly through the dinner, and ordered ourselves another nut brown ale, which we surmised was the best beer offering they supply.
In town for a wedding, and didn't expect to stumble upon this little gem! Wow! Is it possible that the service was ALMOST as good as the food? The bartender!!! Totally forgot his name, it seems like the ran the restaurant was the BEST. It's restaurants like this that will Keep us coming back for more! Pork shank, burger, calamari, jalapeño margarita! We fell in love instantly!!!! To top it off they gave us dessert on the house! Thank you Adam's!!!!
