The Sloop Inn - Monmouthshire

Very disappointed. Received a £100 parking fine for stopping in this pub’s car park to check whether the restaurant was open. Will definitely not be going anywhere near this pub in future… Shamefully opportunistic way of making money.

This is a wonderful and welcoming pub with a spacious parking lot. We stopped in for lunch while driving by and were greeted by friendly staff who advised us to register our car number at the bar to avoid a parking fine. We ordered a delicious vegan curry and the trio of sausages, both of which were very enjoyable. The menu offered a good variety of options, including specials like rabbit. The staff and other customers were all very pleasant. We will definitely be returning in the future.

My wife and I dined at this restaurant several times during our stay over the Easter weekend with our two dogs. We enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch with a variety of vegetables and a generous portion of meat. The restaurant offers a nice selection of beers and wines. The owners are friendly, and the regular customers are sociable, making for a very enjoyable dining experience.

Very friendly welcome. Traditional village pub with pool table slightly apart from plenty of comfortable seating in bar area. All spotlessly clean. We wanted a quick light lunch so opted for large and tasty sandwiches on lovely fresh bread, could have had more substantial meals including rabbit- nice to see traditional country food on a menu. Will use again.

We plan our vacations around our dog, so as long as he is allowed in, we are happy. The Sloop Inn is a classic pub with darts and pool in the bar area. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, serving traditional pub fare. I ordered the BBQ ribs which had plenty of meat on them, followed by the sticky toffee pudding with custard. I highly recommend this establishment.
