There were a good variety of vegetables. The issue was that it was served with everything on the plate when it came to the table. Our group of 4 all felt that the gravy should have been served separately. The plates were swamped with thick gravy. We felt that if the veg and gravy had been served so that we could have helped ourselves we'd have enjoyed our meal more. The deserts were great! We wouldn't rush back for Sunday lunch.
Delicious pub grub! We went for a meal with friends, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. There was a good choice of specials and the food was excellent, hot and great tasting. The puddings were all fantastic. We will definitely be visiting again and would recommend this traditional village pub.
Highly reccomended, Delicious meal, good quality food cooked to perfection and plenty of it, very pleasant and friendly staff, was also happy to do a take out pudding, will definately return
Stayed in Tintern for our little post anniversary getaway and walked past this a few times, so thought we’d try it for our evening meal. Great portion sizes, proper tasty pub food and lovely ambience. Service was impeccable and the staff were really, really friendly. Shame it’s not open again before we go home.
We stayed in the beautiful village of Tintern. There are 5 places to eat here. I am allergic to garlic and rang ahead to find out about the menu. The people on the phone were really helpful and couldn’t be any more receptive. This is a typical village pub with a small menu serving pub classics, but what they do serve is of great quality. They also have a specials board with about 6 dishes on. It only opens Thursday to Sunday which is a shame as we would’ve eaten there on more nights. We ate there twice in the week. It is perfectly located and has outside seating over looking the River Wye. The rib eye steak was amazing. Super tasty and perfectly cooked (medium rare). It was the best steak I’ve tasted. My husband enjoyed the wild boar burger and my girls enjoyed the steak pie and the burger. The desserts were huge. My husband enjoyed the beers on hand pull and the service was super. It’s a shame it’s not our local pub.
