The Doorman was so welcoming and helped us to a nice table on the patio. Service was efficient and very friendly. We had a great time. Good food, good music, good people. Very friendly and very positive. Such a great vibe!

My wife and I went to this restaurant a few times. We always enjoy the atmosphere. They introduced a new menu not long ago. I find they got rid of some of our favorite meals. What we took was just ok. I hope they reintroduce the old menu.

I was at the St James Gate this weekend in Moncton with my wife and friends and we really had a good time. I had the fish & chips and it was simply awesome. The presentation and freshness of the food was excellent. The service was also really good and the waitress was just a pleasure and really made our evening more enjoyable.This place is just off the main street so if you are sitting outside on the sidewalk deck like we did, you don’t quite have that main street vibe which I really like but it is still very enjoyable. The inside of the restaurant/bar is really cool and the decor feels like an old tavern or even a dungeon with the vaulted ceilings so it’s very well done and authentic looking. It is not very big so even with few people, it seems to always feel crowded and the atmosphere is very lively.I always enjoy this place and I am never disappointed. I can’t wait to return next time I am in town.

Hubby and I originally went to another locale to dine but it was after 10 pm so no food was being served. The server there suggested St James Gate. What a lovely surprise. Setting was very interesting , almost like a set of tunnels. Very quaint and delicious food. And to top it all off, some great local entertainment. Don't miss this great lil spot just off the Main Street. Highly recommend the spinach salad with scallops and shrimp. And they even top you off with a bit of chocolate at the end. Had such a fun time. Can't really speak about the daytime but it was rather dark and most likely not meant for children in the evening. Also has seating outside. Manager came and checked on us twice. Very impressed.
