Beijing Palace - Mole Valley

This was our first return to this great restaurant post covid and we were delighted to find it was still as lovely as ever. Great food and excellent service.

The food is great, but and this is a big but, the wait for take away is terrible. I phoned at 6pm and requested for 7pm, they asked me to come at 7:10pm and assured me it would be ready. However, and not for the first time, the food wasn’t ready and we eventually waited another half an hour before our food arrived which was a total waste of time and we had 8 guests hungrily waiting at home. A real disappointment.

Despite some great reviews for food, this place looks shabby and the awning is very grubby. This does not inspire confidence or look welcoming so we would not want to dine there. It also lets Ashtead high street down.

My last review was not complimentary after a bad experience at this restaurant. However, my daughter and I tried it again, since the previous experience was goid and we felt it was worth another try. This time it was good again. Service was polite and food tasted good as it always does . So top marks again. Keep it up.

The last time me and my daughter had a takeaway from this restaurant, the food was good and the older lady was only too pleased to serve us. This time , we ate in, and it was not a nice experience. The food was up to its usual standard, very good, but the younger lady serving us was blatantly rude. She also over charged us. She seems to have a grudge against the customers of Ashtead in the misguided belief we are all well off. My tip take down the prices as you order and check your bill And, preferably, DON'T eat in!
