We were staying in nearby Patalavaca and had been advised to give this place a try. On entry you are greeted to some good live background music that was varied in content and not intrusive. First impression is that this is a bit of a barn, but once diners started to come in after 7pm the place soon filled up and an atmosphere created. The menu folder is very quirky and the content is varied. From past experience we ordered only 2 Pakora starters between 5 of us as well as some pappadums with onions and chutneys. Main Course was a mixture of Lamb Bhuna Gosht, Chicken Tikka and Aloo Chicken. Would recommend if you order the Medium sauce you may find it on the hotter side of medium and nearer to hot but the flavour of the lamb was superb, very tender, succulent and no fatty bits. The Naan Breads were lovely and firm and none of the stodgy stuff that can often be served. No Cobra or Kingfisher, but they were waiting for some coming from London. Our waiter was a very pleasant one with good English and very helpful. We were on holiday and having a leisurely time talking and were not aware of how long the food took to arrive but have to say it did not seem to take so long. If I was being picky I would suggest the Pakora was more like Bhaji, but that should not be enough to put any one off trying this very nice restaurant. Very reasonable at €100 for 5 people including beers and water
We visited the new indian restauarant in Playa de Amadores. Last year it housed a Hard-Rock-Café -wannabe that served awfull bad burges so happy to see the indian in stead. The food was absolutely smack on! Clean tastes (had No. 56 King prawns and Tandoori Mixed grill, naans with garlic and with cheese and raita. Raita not the best I 've ever had but the main dishes were so more than okay that we forgave that. Minus was, that both the waiter that took the order and the one servint the dishes was unsmiling boardering to unfriendly almost haughty. No nursing the guests and almost unreachable when we wanted to pay. A pity, as there is so, so many restaurants that are more than willing to treat the guests nice in this area. But food get topmarks!
Crisp ,clean taste, tried the palak paneer and the gosht rodan and it was absolutely great , so was the nan. The service was good, only negative thing was the interior that was not so cosy.
This restaurant opened in the resort earlier this summer and caters for all be they residents or not. Those like me who like good Indian food will enjoy it, but there is enough on the menu for those who do not. A very committed manageress but some of the waiting staff could improve. Not sure I liked the continuous pop videos on large TV monitors but that could be my age showing. Some in the family thought it a little expensive. It is well worth a visit especially if you like Indian food
Food was nice. Just nice. Nothing special. Service a little unattentive. Difficult to attract waitress' s attention. Wine very expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. There are better indian restaurants around.
