Oishi Teri Sushi - Modesto

Everything was incredibly delicious, and the service was outstanding. We arrived with a group of seven and, despite not having a reservation, they seated us right away and served our food swiftly. The walls are charming and creative, allowing us to leave sweet little messages. It’s the perfect setting for a relaxed dinner on a Friday night.

If you manage to make it through the meal without feeling financially strained, you’ll also find a 3% surcharge just for using a credit card to pay. Many people don’t even carry cash these days, so this feels especially frustrating. On a $70 bill, that adds an extra $2.10, which seems excessive when most places only impose a 50-cent fee, if any at all. The service has also been disappointing. On several occasions, staff have argued about our orders instead of just accepting what we say. It’s essential for staff to be knowledgeable about the menu to avoid confusion and misunderstandings. The food that used to be excellent is often not fresh anymore. They can do much better. It would be refreshing if they focused on improving food quality instead of finding new ways to charge customers extra.

After seeing the fantastic reviews on Yelp, we decided to give this place a try. The service was friendly as soon as we stepped in! We visited for lunch, and right away, I realized this wasn't your typical sushi restaurant. The upbeat music and fully stocked bar created a lively atmosphere! If you're in the mood for something unique when it comes to sushi, this is the spot! With an impressive cocktail and shot menu, great beers on tap, and an array of creative sushi rolls, I can't wait to come back for dinner next time!
