Dubrovnik - Mittenwald

Since I am the first to review in English, I thought that I would provide more detail that I usually would. The restaurant is open every day, starting at I believe or PM, with different hours on Sundays and holidays. The restaurant seats...somewhere between people indoors, and has tables outside that presumably are used during the summer. The menu is quite extensive, offering servings of specific specialties from what was once Yugoslavia, combinations of specialties, and also an extensive set of beef/steak offerings. We opted for two of the combination platters. My wife had the Balkan platter, which featured a skewer of grilled pork, a pork cutlet, and some sausages (cevapcici). The dish came with rice and condiments for the meats. I ordered a half and half, which provided a skewer of grilled pork, and cevapcici, and came with a cabbage salad. A nice selection of beers was available, but we had wine instead. We ordered a bottle of red wine of Macedonian origin. It came in a one-liter screwcap bottle, and was about Euros. At this price point, I think it was a good value. The food was nicely prepared and tasty. We had had a huge lunch earlier in the day and so weren't as hungry as we usually are. The portions were generous. I enjoyed the meats. It was nice to have rice as a change from potatoes and dumplings. The cabbage salad was tasty, and different from one I had had a few days earlier at Post Keller. The seasonings on the meats differ from those typical in the Bavarian cuisine, and it was a pleasant change of pace. I do love Bavarian food, but it was nice to have something a bit different. Scanning the dining room, one table in plain view ordered steaks. They were served on a wooden platter with a baked potato, perhaps something similar to sour cream, and a partial cob of corn. I did notice a pound) T-bone that was being offered for about Euros or so. The steak looked to be nicely cooked, the diners were enjoying it, and so too did the dog under the table who got occasional samples. It was quite charming. Overall, very good food, attentive service, and a final bill for two of under Euros. A very good value. If I were to return to Mittenwald in the future, and I needed a change of pace, I would happily visit Dubrovnic again. Hope this review is helpful.

Located just out of the town centre this is a very popular restaurant with the locals and for good reason, a great selection of meat dishes and mixed platters which were just awesome, we ate there twice before dragging ourselves away to experience somewhere else....brilliant food, hearty and tasty , you wont be hungry when you leave.
