The Ramble Inn - Mitchelstown

Worst veg soup ever seen or tasted. If I tried to copy it: take a blender full of cold water add some parsley and cabbage, blend then blast in microwave for 10 mins place in front of customer scalding hot. No sign of carrot, onion or potato in this dish. Guys who are you kidding?

Upon entering the matriarch greeted us with an look of dispair. She fumbled around and exclaimed where the f is she gone regarding the lady who checked us in. Once we were checked in, we left our room, as is the norm when staying the night in such an establishment. The matriarch came upon us as we had the nerve to lock our room door and said what are you doing?! in a tone I haven 't heard since junior infants circa 1997 when I stole a Crayola. The room is clean and the television is the finest 12 incher you ever did see. Facilities include 2 plastic cups. The room is comfortable 32 degrees Celsius (approx) perfect for a balmy July night. The knob has been removed from the heater so the guest does not have to worry about maintaining their own temperature. Combined with a mattress sourced from the local quarry and two whole pillows sourced from the local post office (A5 envelopes). This is really an experience. Check out is as simple as get ignored at the desk for 10 minutes. All that for the bargain price of 130 a night, who can resist?!

Myself and partner just had food in this “restaurant” it really isn’t a restaurant or pub grub. It was very very old fashioned the servers had no hospitality skills at all.. they were welcoming but that was it.. just gave us our food and didn’t come back just hide in the kitchen with the door open.. the food?? You could cook at the same level at home .. it was eatable but it was nothing to be happy or satisfied with being honest..

We stopped here for a bite to eat on our way to Cork city. The menu was not great, there was very little choice. The tables were not clean. We got our tea 10 minutes before we got our toasted sandwiches, the ham was cut so thickly it was still cold inside the toasted sandwich. The waitress was missing two or three of her fake nails from each hand, she looked untidy and seemed uncomfortable even taking our order. To be honest I was tempted to just leave...why didnt I We didn't take the time to finish our toasted sandwiches with our cold tea and decided to leave our unfinished lunch and head to the shop for a bar of chocolate and a packet of snacks instead. Enough said!

We got an amazing roast chicken dinner here and were able to charge our phones and use proper toilets. It was a little paradise away from our tent and mud at the festival. The staff were so nice to us aswell
