Our server, Bill, was attentive without being overly intrusive; he was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. The food was excellent and full of flavor. We started with the Thick Cut Bacon and the Burrata, both of which were incredible. I can’t stop thinking about the Burrata... it was definitely the highlight of the meal! The drinks were good, and we shared the mashed potatoes, asparagus, and the Cast Iron NY Strip. The complimentary bread was warm and delicious. We didn’t order dessert, but looking back, I regret not trying the chocolate cake. I found it funny that there was no salt and pepper on the table, but I quickly realized it wasn't necessary at all. The tables and chairs showed signs of being well-used, but I’ve heard that the restaurant might be closing in the fall, which is disappointing because I would drive all the way back just for more Burrata! Overall, we had a lovely time!
This restaurant is a fantastic find, featuring a vibrant, modern art deco interior right off the Borgata casino (with access from inside). The front bar and lounge area were closed due to COVID, which led to some guests waiting outside. We made a reservation for 8:15, and I definitely recommend booking ahead, either online or by phone, as it gets busy quickly. The cabernet and Syrah wines were excellent, and we enjoyed several dishes including the crab cake, spicy southwest ribeye, brussels sprouts, and creamed spinach. I particularly loved the kick from the wasabi purée with the crab cake and the peppers paired with the steak. Just a tip: the side dishes are on the smaller side, but very flavorful. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful fine dining experience, aside from a couple of grumpy women next to us who kept giving us dirty looks. Oh, and I also got a slice of chocolate cake to go, which came with ice cream, and it was absolutely amazing! Just a heads up: it’s a huge slice, though I would have liked a bit more ice cream with it!
The kale romaine Caesar salad was a solid 10/10. While it was a simple salad, the dressing was spot on, and the crispy croutons made it exceptional. Plus, it included fresh anchovies! The baked potato, however, was my least favorite dish. I didn’t expect the blue cheese to be so overpowering and would have liked it much milder; we didn’t finish it at all. The bone-in ribeye was tasty, but unfortunately, it was cooked almost to well done, which was disappointing. On the other hand, the Louisiana filet mignon was fantastic—something I would order again and again. The crawfish béarnaise sauce was unique and absolutely deserving of a 10/10 rating. We also enjoyed a tequila flight and a gin cocktail with cucumber, both of which I highly recommend!
I was very happy that the restaurant was still open because most of the casino was closed, so that was a lifesaver. Starving we had the surf turf skewers cooked perfectly, shrimp cocktail, and the bacon. All three were impressively delicious! For our entrees we had the cast iron skillet steak the bone in rib eye, only complaint was the rib on the rib eye was very strong. The truffle mash the Brussel sprouts were fantastic. It was our anniversary and our server bill made it so special !
Before COVID shut down the world, I made a mad dash to Atlantic City to hang out and eat at one of my favorite restaurants, Bobby Flay. I've been coming here since 2007 so I was surprised that I haven't reviewed such a gem. The restaurant is beautiful which shouldn't be a surprise. Mr. Flay is one of the premier celebrity chefs and it's nestled inside the fabulous Borgata Resort! The service was impeccable. They sure know how to make their patrons feel special! The food is always a special treat. The lamb chops on this occasion were tough. We didn't send them back because they were still good but definitely not up to Bobby Flay's standards. My steak and Lobster Crab cake appetizer were both to die for! I can't wait for the world to open back up so I can make another mad dash to Atlantic City. I'm anxious to turn this 4 star review into the 5 stars this restaurant has the potential to attain. So bring on those lamb chops, I'm sure they'll be tender and mouthwatering!!!
