Traditional Fish & Chips (Divine Foods)

When you are craving bad bad stuff, this is the place to check out - everything is deep fried and OILY - delicious though and their portions are generous. Fairly well-priced too.

Not your typical Fish and Chip Place. They also call themselves Divine Foods but the dominant signage says Fish and Chips. There is a good variety of fish options including baked fish but the inclusion of Fish Biryani is the fist clue that this place is different.The other menu items include burgers, shawarma, donair and souvlaki. The side order menu includes poutine which I detest. Dare I say that? Will Quebec leave confederation over my remark? I went with the spicy fries and the halibut. Good portion, properly cooked, nothing special. I will come here again if I am close at lunch but Homestyle Fish and Chips on Eglinton Ave will remain my go-to place.

Had a craving for fish and chips so my husband picked up from this place. The Halibut was good, a decent size and not paper thin, cooked well, nice and flaky. The fries were good nothing exciting but good, where things went wrong was the onion rings. I love onion rings and whenever we get fish and chips I always order some because almost all fish and chip places make them by hand, and why not you have a vat of batter right there! Opened the box from here and found...... frozen onion rings, what a disappointment! I mean really how much does an onion cost??? And you have the batter right there, I am sure frozen probably cost them more then the price of an actual onion which would probably have given them 4 or more servings at least! So if you are not an onion ring lover then this place is probably fine. They do have a fairly big menu with lots of non seafood options.

~ This is about a 3.5 stars place ~Was craving for some fish and chips so I thought to check this place out and to my surprise this wasn't that bad as they had a lot of options to choose from which didn't just include fish.We ordered their Cod fish with spicy fries and Spicy fish with Poutine fries. The Potatoes were the winner here. We really enjoyed their spicy fries and the Poutine's gravy was really good. The spicy fish was really enjoyable but the cod fish was not the best of this world. They don't make their own tartar sauce and you get the packaged version which is give out at lot of take-out joints. The price is reasonable, staff is friendly and service is fast. There is parking on the premises and few tables in the restaurant for seating.They also have burgers & wraps like souvalki, zinger, sharawara...etc.For my Muslim folks - I confirmed with the staff that they serve halal meat here.
