I did some research in order to discover this small pub like restaurant in the middle of an office park. It does not take long before you are greeted by the owner Marianne. Be prepared for quips and one liners if you dare to question anything … lol! They feature a lot of craft beers (or wine) which are paired for you by Marianne with your food selections. The menu provides a welcomed twist from what you might expect from a pub in the office park.Overall my group 8 enjoyed their meals and the friendly “abuse” which made for a fun night. We started with appetizers … three types of wings ($13/lb), Saganake ($14 Greek cheese), escargot ($10), calamari ($14), vegetable spring rolls ($9), buffalo chicken spring rolls ($12) and peppercorn poutine ($11). The wings were decent but one batch was too dry. The escargot was very small for the price. The Saganake was voted the overall winner. The dinner tally … Black & Blue burger ($14) had some juice and was not over cooked to a sawdust state. My 10oz. rib eye ($30) was thin and not juicy, which was a disappointment. The pasta primavera ($15) was great. Fish of the day ($23) was very good. Filet mignon ($35) was good but a tad small. Rack of lamb ($44) was the most expensive … very good but not a lot. Grilled shrimp salad ($16) was a great value.FYI … Oliver’s was named after her son who also participates in the “dinner show”.
The good was just great! The hot wings were perfectly seasoned and the pasta was delicious. The home named beer was honestly and surprisingly good.
This was a great stop on our vacation!! Found the beer menu, "Beer Bible" to be amazing!! The service was knowledgable and friendly! Super-knowledgeable!! Our server brought us bottle of beer and poured us tastes before making us commit to the beer, that was a first. Usually you go to a beer joint and the food is "ok"! Again, our server was great!! Listed off an impressive selection of specials and we all corseted off that list. I wasn't expecting much as like I said, it's a beer joint! Wow, I was so pleasantly surprised!! The food was great!! The portions were very generous!!!!I would highly recommend this place to anyone hat wants a MASSIVE beer selection, very good food and great service!!!
All asian friends of mine were pre-charged 18% tips on the bill, except the caucasian friend of ours. We came together and ordered similar food, why treat us differently? Sorry for the language, but seriously, with respect, wtf?
